Saturday

  • Arrive at the Chateau, enjoy a tour of the grounds and then you will be shown to your rooms. After freshening up, we will all gather in the great room for a Welcome Toast with canapes before we sit down to our gourmet meal and wine pairings prepared by Chef Walter. Please feel free to purchase wines at the winery visits for your after dinner sipping.

Sunday

  • After breakfast, we will leave the Chateau and head to the city of Lyon for a fun day. First we will visit the town market of Saint-Antoine Célestins and also the Craft Market across the river Saone. We will then have lunch at recommended restaurant*. After this we will meet a local guide who will walk us around the medieval part of Lyon rich in history. Time on your own and then back to the Chateau for Canapes and Cocktails followed by our gourmet dinner with wine pairings. A special highlight will be an introduction to the Beaujolais and Burgundy wine region by our wine expert and dear friend, Cameron Jones, DipWSET (Diploma, The Wine and Spirit Education Trust).
     

Monday

  • After a delicious breakfast we will rejoin Cameron for a day out in the Vineyards with wine tasting and education.
  • We will stop for lunch* at a well loved restaurant and then carry on to another vineyard. 
  • After a full day, we will return to our Chateau to be pampered with Canapes and Cocktails and then our amazing gourmet dinner with wine pairings. 

Tuesday

  • Another wonderful breakfast and we will head out to the Pouilly Fuisse wine region with Cameron.
  • We will have lunch* in local restaurant
  • And then stop in the medieval town of Cluny in Burgundy with a visit to its ancient Abbey (In 910, William I, Duke of Aquitaine founded the Benedictine Abbey of Cluny as the motherhouse of the Congregation of Cluny. The deed of gift included vineyards, fields, meadows, woods, waters, mills, serfs, and lands both cultivated and uncultivated. Hospitality was to be given to the poor, strangers, and pilgrims. It was destroyed during the French Revolution.)
  • Returning home, we will enjoy our hour of Canapes and Cocktails and then our gourmet dinner with wine pairings.

Wednesday

  • After breakfast, we continue our exploration with a visit to the Wine Capital of Burgundy – Beaune – as it has been since Roman times. Here we will explore the town. Our first stop will be a private visit to the famous “Dijon style” mustard maker of Fallot with a tasting.
  • Lunch* at a local restaurant
  • A leisurely visit to the remarkable Hospices de Beaune or Hôtel-Dieu de Beaune is a former charitable almshouse in Beaune, France. It was founded in 1443 by Nicolas Rolin, chancellor of Burgundy, as a hospital for the poor. The original hospital building, the Hôtel-Dieu, one of the finest examples of fifteenth-century Burgundian architecture, is now a museum. Services for patients are now provided in modern hospital buildings.
  • Free time in Beaune
  • Home in the Chateau, we enjoy our Canapes and Cocktails followed by our delicious gourmet dinner with wine pairings by Chef Walter

Thursday

  • Today, after breakfast, you will enjoy another great wine day with Cameron visiting his hometown area of Beaujolais. We will visit personally with two friends who are wine makers. We will visit their vineyards, taste their wines and get to know them personally. 
  • In between visits, we will enjoy lunch at a famous local restaurant frequented by Cameron and Walter and Kim. 
  • We will then continue on to another winery in another wine region accompanied by Cameron
  • Back to the Chateau for our last Canapes and Cocktails and our fare well dinner prepared by Chef Walter accompanied with wines. 

Friday

  • Be prepared for an 8am departure from the Chateau. Our driver will take you back to Paris for your next destination. A Breakfast Bag will accompany you on the drive. 

 

Each day we will arise to a homecooked breakfast. We will then hop aboard our private transport to different areas highlighting the best of Burgundy and Beaujolais. Lunch out at local restaurants*, more exploration and then home to a multicourse meal prepared by Paris Le Cordon Bleu Chef Walter Eagleton and his staff. Wine is included during dinner and paired with the meals. Please feel free to purchase wines at the winery visits for your after dinner sipping.
