Monday

After a filling breakfast at the villa, we will leave for the beautiful mountainside town of Valdemossa. Valldemossa is a village built at the beginning of the 14th century and is a beautiful example of early Spanish culture with many shops and restaurants. The monastery here was originally built as a royal palace, however in 1399 it was converted into a monastery. In the 1830’s the Spanish government confiscated monasteries and the historic estate was sold to private owners, who have since hosted some prominent, long term guests. These have included the Polish composer Frédéric Chopin and his lover, the pioneering French writer Amantine-Lucile-Aurore Dupin, better known by her pseudonym George Sand, who wrote a notable account of A Winter in Majorca (entrance fee to estate included). After a leisurely lunch* in Valdemossa, we are on our way again, and this time we arrive at an amazing local winery for a complete tour and tasting of their excellent wine. (Fee included) Then on to the Villa for canapés and cocktails, to relax, have a swim and anticipate the gourmet dinner to be created and served by Chef Walter and the AGA staff.

Tuesday

After wonderful breakfast on the terrace we will have the whole day at the Villa. We will learn from the Villa owner all about her almond and olive orchards and how she harvests and prepares the fruits. Lunch will be served on the patio and we will have time to enjoy Marybeth and Niki.

Music, movement, magic – let’s play with the three pillare of the Nia experience.  In this playshop, we will move to a diverse soundscape of music and we will experiment with rhythm, harmony, melody, silence and sound. Expand your movement vocabulary as you use Nia’s 52 moves and 9 movement forms to stimulate creativity and break movement habits. Let’s create the magic of self healing, self expression, and ……… as you learn techniques to enhance any Nia class.
Enjoy an extended yoga class with Niki. We will explore Music, Movement and Magic with our yoga practice of basic postures, breathwork and guided meditation. You will have the opportunity to connect with your center where you can explore the music of your own heart, feel the movement of your authentic spirit and experience the magic of your inner wisdom.

Take a nap, sunbath or read a good book. Of course the evening will bring canapés and cocktails until our gourmet dinner created and served by Chef Walter and the AGA staff.

Wednesday

After enjoying breakfast, we will depart for the market town of Santanyi for market day.  Santanyi is a lovely stone built town with lots of small boutique lined streets and quaint little nooks and alleyways. The market is spread all over these little streets and there is plenty to see; clothes, leather goods, earthenware, shoes and of course, all the food stalls containing amazing produce. Bartering IS expected!

Do not be surprised if the buildings in Santanyi look just that little bit more mellow than everywhere else – this small town is the source of the golden sandstone used in Palma’s cathedral and La Llotja among others. The old gate, Sa Porta Murada, seen as you enter the town from Palma, is a good example of Santanyi stone and a reminder that this was once a walled town. Santanyi stone is still quarried today.

The parish church of Sant Andreu Apostel contains a massive rococo organ, designed by Jordi Bosch and brought here from a convent in Palma.

We will lunch* in Santanyi and then leave for the Majorica Pearl Factory where we will see a demonstration of their “top secret” manufacturing process (not including the secret!). Expecting our group, the sales staff will then assist us in getting some amazing deals on wonderful pearl jewelry at factory prices. A beautiful box and certificate of authenticity is included in every purchase.

We will head back to the Villa for canapés and cocktails, to relax, have a swim and anticipate the gourmet dinner to be created and served by Chef Walter and the AGA staff.

Thursday

We will enjoy our breakfast and then head, via train, to the bustling capital city of Palma (round trip fare included). Palma was founded as a Roman camp upon the remains of a Talaiotic settlement. The city was subjected to several Vandal raids during the fall of the Western Roman Empire, then reconquered by the Byzantine Empire, then colonized by the Moors (who called it Medina Mayurqa) and, in the 13th century, by James I of Aragon. The Old City (in the south-east area of Palma behind the cathedral) is a maze of streets clearly hinting at an Arab past. With the exception of a few streets and squares, the walkways of this city quarter are fairly narrow, quiet streets, surrounded by a diverse range of interesting buildings, the architecture of which is comparable to cities such as Florence. The majority are private houses, some of which are open to the public as discreet museums or galleries. The Old City is also home to the Ajuntament (or Town Hall), the Convent of the Cathedral and the Banys Àrabs.

Option A:  Join the Palma Hop on, Hop off bus for a comprehensive overview of the city with options for Castle visit or boat ride and use as transportation to other parts of Palma at your leisure and on your own. (€20-28 fee Not included)

Option B:  Self guided day of Palma on your own

Option C:  or accompanied by Kim-Palma Hop on, Hop off bus for a comprehensive overview of the city with options for Castle visit or boat ride and use as transportation to other parts of Palma (€20-28 fee Not included)

Option D:  Also available from Palma rail station for those not wanting to be in the city, Tren de Soller. This little train goes from Palma to Soller – a beautiful town on the north side of the island. Self manageable if you want to venture off. “In 1912 a daily train service was established along the 27.3 km route connecting Palma de Mallorca to the town of Sóller. One year later, in 1913, a tram service was also established finally connecting the town of Sóller to the Port of Sóller, 4.9 km away.” €15 round trip-not included)

Lunch* in Palma or Soller. After a few more hours, we will meet back at the Palma rail station for our short trip back to the Villa for canapés and cocktails, to relax, have a swim and anticipate the gourmet dinner to be created and served by Chef Walter and the AGA staff.

Friday

After a delicious breakfast, we will drive to the south coast and board our very own private sailing yacht for five hours at sea(fees included)!

“After a welcoming glass of Cava with your group (not the Captain), we head out to sea or along the coast. Learn the ropes as we go with our experienced crew, or simply enjoy the superb views from the teak deck of the Vita Bel. Stopping in one of the many secluded bays near Cala d’Or, you can swim in the crystal waters, explore with a paddle board, snorkel by the rocks, or relax in the sun while we serve drinks.
We then sail either north to Porto Colom or south to stunning Cala Mondrago. Here we drop anchor to serve you a delicious lunch at the table, under the removable sun canopy; try some of the fine Mallorca wines, take a swim after we may sail out to sea for an exhilarating end to the day.”

Option A: For those who do not want to sail.  We will drive to a nearby beach to enjoy the tranquil turquoise of the Mediterranean. Swim, walk on the beach or just lounge under a parasol on a lounge chair. We will drive into town for lunch* and then explore the port town until the ‘ship comes in’ (rental of parasol and lounge chair included).

Option B: Spend a day around the pool at the Villa, relax, take a nap or just lay low and enjoy the beauty of the island. A refreshing lunch will be available on the terrace created and served by Chef Walter and the AGA staff.
